Amazon has changed the way Americans shop.
This year, the e-commerce giant said its annual Prime Day sale was “the biggest shopping event in Amazon history.”
The changes introduced by the ecommerce giant are not for everyone positive. The introduction of one-day shipping was immediately followed by an increase in the general pollution of the planet as couriers can no longer allocate resources to ensure efficiency but to speed up delivery in order to meet these tight deadlines.
The Californian University study shows that if the whole world chose 5-day delivery rather than fast delivery it would save 100,000 cubic metres of CO2 per year. That is the equivalent of taking 20000 cars off the road every day.
The peculiarity of this data is the enormous impact it can have on the planet and on us on a daily basis.
If each of us chose a greener shipping method, the whole world would benefit.
The title of the infopoem is intended to highlight the fact that by choosing a quick shipment rather than a 5-day shipment, we are going to influence the amount of breathable air on the planet.
The metaphor concentrates on making the unuser part of the average ecommerce user.
By encouraging them to buy the most commonly purchased goods online, it is possible to try to encourage them to freely choose the shipping method.
Once chosen, he will be notified of the impact on the planet that his choice would have caused if made on a real e-commerce site.
